Tricentis — Austin, TX

Led an org that expanded from 100 to 140 engineers within Tricentis R&D. Initially entrusted with a 17-year-old flagship product org, which expanded product responsibilities within the first year. Responsible for Tosca, which enables enterprises to develop test automation at scale.

  • Directly manage a team of 1 VP and 4 Eng Directors, who in turn have teams in multiple sites across Central Europe, Israel, and Australia.
  • Led org transformation to AI/agentic SDLC paradigms, sponsoring multiple efforts to increase the effectiveness and adoption of agentic tools and techniques for higher quality and velocity of development.
  • Responsible for delivery of legacy product transformation to become AI-centric and Cloud-centric.

Engineering Chief of Staff for Talent Solutions, a group of ~700 engineers developing hiring and learning products. Initially intended to be short-term, the position was extended due to a long pause in org growth.

  • Responsible for operations of the engineering org, including operational excellence, strategic initiatives, goal setting/tracking, and org evolution.
  • Improved goal setting and leadership alignment by coaching leaders at different levels on OKR best practices and supporting the adoption of a new OKR management platform (Viva Goals).
  • Advised engineering and product leaders on strategic initiatives for talent marketplace products (Recruiter, Online Jobs, Employer Brand) and the LinkedIn Learning platform.
  • Reviewed org structure in terms of spans and layers and provided a detailed analysis that was influential in later leadership decisions.
  • Efficiently managed significant org changes to align resource allocation with company priorities and to reduce overall org chart depth.
  • Led a geographically distributed team of 16 technical program managers who were critical in delivering value by coordinating cross-team collaboration, managing risk, communicating with stakeholders, and optimizing engineering processes. Led the ~100-person multi-site engineering arm of Staffing Works in Corporate Engineering. This group developed and integrated solutions for Google's hiring and recruiting efforts, regularly launching features that impacted recruiting efficiency and user satisfaction.

  • Strategically grew overall group by 27% (21% Eng growth), established a more effective org structure, and grew the Product Analyst team to enable analysis-based decision making.
  • Defined mission and vision for the group, presented to key stakeholders and to teams in quarterly all-staff meetings.
  • Influenced product and technical roadmaps, guided goal setting. Led pivot to focus and consolidate investment on highest priorities.

Led an organization of 7–9 groups and 400–500 people, focused on transformational engineering platforms and underlying infrastructure. After a company-wide GM restructure, reported to the General Manager of Platforms and became Group Manager, responsible for all functions contributing to infrastructure and engineering platform development.

  • Owned platforms for engineering velocity, reliability, performance, developer productivity, security, privacy, front-end development, compute infrastructure, test automation, data science, and A/B test setup/analysis, including:
    • A velocity program that provided metrics and company-wide improvement goals, resulting in a >40% reduction of code delivery time company-wide in 2019.
    • A continuous delivery platform that increased deployment automation, enabling code to reach production with no human intervention.
    • Self-service workload deployment infrastructure and DB provisioning systems that reduced provisioning time from weeks/days to minutes for most workloads.
    • Front-end component libraries and a micro-frontend platform that enabled faster product development and greater consistency of user experience.
    • Privacy systems that enabled best practices and compliance with global regulations.
